²⁸ Omri rested with his fathers, and he was buried in Samaria. Then his son Ahab became king in his place.

²⁹ Ahab son of Omri became king over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah. Ahab son of Omri ruled over Israel in Samaria for twenty-two years. ³⁰ Ahab son of Omri committed more evil in the eyes of the Lord than all those who had gone before him.
